Tenzin Nangkyi who won the Isabel Mc Isaac Scholarship, is a clinical liaison nurse for a non-profit hospice in Washington, D.C. while she is pursuing her masters of nursing and masters in business administration, MSN/MBA, at Johns Hopkins University. Born and raised in India, Tenzin earned her undergraduate degree at Berea College in rural Kentucky then moved to New York  to work as a critical care nurse. One of her primary interests is providing community service in Tibet through Matchik, a global non-profit organization promoting civic engagement and intercultural dialogue.  She served as co-chair of Matchik’s Health Committee that oversaw the start-up of a medical clinic in the earthquake zone of Jyekundo I Yushu Prefecture. She also played a key leadership role as Chair of Machik Weekend in 2013 and 2014.

NEF’s only purpose is to provide nursing scholarship assistance to make graduate level nursing education possible. NEF is the largest, single, private, professionally endorsed source of funds for advanced nursing study with over one hundred years of service to and for professional nursing.

NEF’s Board of Directors is comprised of leaders from nursing, education, technology, and business communities. Members donate their time and talent to the advancement of the nursing profession. NEF operates with exceptionally low overhead. NEF employs only one individual who serves in several capacities.
