Kelli Roush, who is the winner of the Lucy C. Perry Scholarship, has been a nurse for six years and for the past five years has worked at Indiana University Health North Hospital. She currently serves as a charge nurse in the adult medical-surgical department. In 2011 she became a Board Certified Nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing through the ANCC. After finishing her masters’ degree in nursing administration at the University of Indianapolis, she began to pursue her doctorate degree in nursing practice at the University of Southern Indiana. She is continuing the research she conducted in her master’s program focusing on electronic health record downtime in her DNP program at IU Health North Hospital. Kelli’s DNP capstone project is looking at whether or not simulated electronic table top exercises are an effective strategy for preparing RN’s on an adult-surgical floor for emergency computer down time scenarios.
