Helen Masters, LILLIAN HIEMENZ award winner, worked as a Med/Surg nurse at Crittenden Regional Hospital but came to realize that her passion is oncology and the reason she became a nurse in the first place. She now works weekends providing direct patient care within 3 units of the Cancer Center: Medical and Surgical Oncology as well as the Stem Cell Transplant Unit, while pursuing her MSN Family Nurse Practitioner degree part time at Arkansas State University. One of her future goals is to establish a clinic in rural Arkansas to serve the farmer who neglects himself while getting the crop in before the weather changes. This outdoor loving nurse was a gymnast for 16 years, competing and placing at state and regional levels. In addition to her BSN she holds an AAS degree in Veterinary Technology.
