Recipient of the Eleanor C. Lambertsen Memorial Scholarship, started her career in 2003 as an associate degree nurse, spending eight years in various roles within oncology nursing. In 2006 she earned a BSN from St. Joseph’s College on Long Island. The next phase of her career she assumed leadership positions, initially as the nurse manager of a medical-surgical unit in the ANCC Magnet-Designated Huntington Hospital, NSLIJ Health System. During this time she earned a Masters in Business Administration from St. Joseph’s College, and became an ANCC Certified Gerontology Nurse and Nurse Executive.

In 2012 Amy continued to develop her career and accepted a role as Director of Patient Care Services at Plainview Hospital, NSLIJ Health System and began her study on the doctoral level in the Organizational Leadership and Management Doctoral Program at Teachers College, Columbia University. Amy’s research interests include complex adaptive systems, interdisciplinary collaboration, high performing teams, and end of life care.

In 2013, Amy accepted the position of Vice President of Allied Health at Huntington Hospital. Her areas of responsibility include pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, and case management. In addition, she is responsible for TeamSTEPPS, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety as well as the Collaborative Care Council implementation and sustainment. This has been a very exciting role for Amy as she is able to develop partnerships between the allied health professions and nursing.
