In her recent doctoral research, Dr. Roecklein developed a theory of healthcare decision-making among women with a diagnosis of early stage breast cancer. Dr. Roecklein takes great pleasure in sharing her clinical knowledge with novice clinicians and regularly precepts NYU Nurse Practitioner students. She additionally  provides mentorship and educational programs to clinical staff with whom she works.

As an NEF Scholar, she served as the first "student  liaison' member of the Board of Directors of Nursing Educational Funds, Inc. prior to becoming a member of the Board. It was Dr. Roecklein's  inspiration of a "Circle of Scholars" that spurred  NEF to launch the Circle of Scholars envisioning it as a rich opportunity to share scholar accomplishments, establish working groups to manifest our visions for nursing, and to support the careers of our recent and future NEF scholars.

Current interests include working to advance the role of the Nurse Scientist and research in the area of Cancer Survivorship Care.
