Annmarie Muñana, DNP, MSN, MJ, RN, CNE brings together her love of nursing, passion for education, and legal and ethics background to advance academic nursing practice and influence regulatory oversight. As an academic leader in higher education, Annmarie is steadfast in her commitment to nursing education to graduate safe, competent, and ethical nurses to become members of a dedicated and caring profession.
Annmarie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing degrees from Georgetown University. She obtained her Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law from Loyola University Chicago, School of Law, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of San Francisco. To support her doctoral nursing education, Annmarie was the recipient of the Nurses Educational Funds, Inc. (NEF) Philip D. Raso Scholarship for 2021-2022. Since that time, she has remained committed to the NEF mission by contributing to the scholarship funds and participating in the scholarship review process.
Dr. Muñana’s commitment to nursing leadership and education informs her vision of a diverse and ethical nursing workforce to meet the needs of the complex and evolving global healthcare landscape. Annmarie relies on her background and expertise in law and ethics in serving as a member of the American Nurses Association, (ANA), Center for Ethics and Human Rights Advisory Board and as part of the expert panel for the revisions to 2025 ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
In her current position, Dr. Muñana serves as the Director for Accreditation and Professional Regulation for Chamberlain University providing regulatory and accreditation leadership, oversight, and guidance for the undergraduate campus programs and graduate online nursing programs. Since entering academia, Annmarie has held both faculty and dean roles. Previously, she was the founding director for the Office of Research Integrity and Compliance at the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, the pediatric affiliate of the Northwestern University. Feinberg School of Medicine.
